Sephora + Pantone Universe Color of the Year Blush Duo: Swatches & Review
I was excited when I’ve heard about Sephora and Pantone Universe launching their makeup and accessories collection Color of the Year: Tangerine Tango. I couldn’t stand and purchased a makeup set with blushes, eyeshadow palette, eyeliner, lip gloss and lipstick. Now I’m ready to share my opinion about Sephora + Pantone Universe Color of the Year Blush Duo.
Availability: exclusive sephora.com (US only)
Price: 26$ for 2×5.5 gr (I’ve purchased in a set for 68$ in total).
Limited Edition? No.
Final Thoughts: generally I like this product and consider it as a success for Sephora, because they created very pure and interesting colors which I rarely see in mass-market ranges. The blush is lasting and beautifully packed — plastic palette with glass on magnets (which I think was taken as an idea from Inglot Freedom System palettes).
However there’s an issue with application. Both sides are highly pigmented with immediate and rich color payoff, but not very blendable. Shimmer is not as finely milled, as I would like it to be. So you must be careful applying this blush for the first times to adjust the quantity you take.
Desert Flower — matte coral with a hint of peach, powdery finish, nice to wear and behaves better than the 2nd one.
Coral — rose coral, a bit flamingo-like with very noticeable golden shimmer. However it is more noticeable in the sun, so there’s a chance you take it too much when applying makeup and don’t realize this at first.
Kate Blondycandy has also reviewed that Blush Duo. You may find an interesting comparison with Guerlain Blush G. You may like to browse through Best Things in Beauty, because she also reviewed this blush as well as the other items from «Color of the Year» collection.
Please, read my review in Russian for maximum details on the product. More swatches and pictures are given below.
Tried to show «Coral» in sunlight, but hadn’t succeed in revealing much shimmer.
This picture was taken a month earlier (not slightest suntan here). I’ve applied «Desert Flower» as a base and added a hint of «Coral» on the top.
