ELLIS FAAS Skin Veil Pen #S102: Swatches & Review
You’ve probably seen a sneak peek of ELLIS FAAS products last week. I did some homework so today will share my review of skinf foundation ELLIS FAAS Skin Veil Pen.
Skin Veil Pen — is one of the forms of ELLIS FAAS foundations boxed in a pen with a brush. I’m says «one of» because there’s the same kind of foundation, but in the bottle with pomp. I will summarize my experience with this particalar product and packaging in the following:
+ light foundation with a very natural finish — not too matte, not too shiny, light reflecting effect;
+ applies easily, you can add layers to receive veil coverage up to medium+;
+ light mattifying effect, adopts to your skin in few minutes after application;
+ stays on your skin during the day, doesn’t melt of fade away too soon;
+ foundation pen comes with 2 refills;
— doesn’t look good on dry skin and this is noticeable;
— the brush is inconvenient for application, you can’t apply just need amount and waste your product;
— unreasonably price in case of pen packaging;
#S102 — this is a shade for light skin with a little bit of yellow undertones. I’ve chosen this shade based on the review of Fruity Lashes and actually I believed it will very pale color with a bit of rose undertones. But in my reality it is not the one, still see some yellow (I have one foundation similar in coverage — byTerry — thought they’ll be the same in shade, but the latest has less yellow). Still this color is wearable for me, as yellow part is not that big and this foundation itself is very adoptable. Still I’s like to mention that color selection on official website was a total nightmare for me.
I decided to take a picture with this foundation once a woke up in bad mood, with a grey skin tone — daily blogging and office deadlines don’t work good for your skin, never. My skin was also visibly dry near my nose and I had black circles under eyes, so I use it just all over the face. Note — no foundation primer, no concealer, no powder, nothing — just this veil. I was generally satisfied with its look though I must admit it doesn’t look good on peeling skin and it doesn’t hide pores.
Availability: Sephora.us or check ELLISFAAS.com
Price: ~65$ for 14 ml (veil in pen), ~95$ for 30 ml.
Limited Edition? No.
Final Thoughts: I liked this foundation as a product — very natural finish, easy to apply, blendable, you can add layers, thought you won’t probably reach full coverage. It doesn’t look good on peel skin (but which one with light coverage does after all?). What I didn’t really like is a pen itself and a brush. It makes you waste more product that is already pricy.
