DiorSkin Nude Natural Glow Crème-Gel Makeup SPF 20 #020: Swatches & Review
Today I’m going to review DiorSkin Nude Natural Glow Crème-Gel Makeup SPF 20. It was a pleasant surprise for me, because I couldn’t find a suitable foundation for myself in Dior. Tried almost all range, but nothing meets my needs perfect.
Initially I thought that Diorskin Nude Natural Glow Hydrating Makeup would be better match as it should give light coverage and hydration. I didn’t like how it looked on my skin and I couldn’t find a good shade for myself in the range. When I tried Natural Glow Crème-Gel Makeup, I realized that it was much better.
It is light creme-gel, looks more like a gel, but feels as something in between cream and gel texture. It give thin coverage and slightly wet finish, which I prefer to set with a loose powder. This Creme-Gel looks nice, doesn’t dry your skin and stays where it was applied for the whole day. It will not cover any serious imperfections, so you should work with a concealer if you have a few. Or choose other foundation with better coverage. I also think it may not look good on dry and dehydrated skin because of gel texture. This compact foundation comes together with a sponge, but I prefer to apply it with flat foundation brush.
This Creme-Gel reminds me of L’Oreal MagicSmooth Souffle. Both are light and there’s something in common about the texture, but while Dior feels and looks L’Oreal covers pores better. So if you have generally good skin, but concerned about your pores you’d better wear L’Oreal Souffle alone. Dior Creme-Gel will need a pore perfecting primer.
Shade #020 is a light beige for skin with neutral or slightly warm undertones. You can apply one or tow layers depending on the warmth of the color you want to achieve. It will not be good for pale, snow white skin.
Availability: at Dior counters.
Price: 48$ for 10 gr.
Final Thoughts: this compact cream-gel foundation will be good for you if your skin is initially in a good state, with no or minor imperfections, but you still want to improve you overall skin tone. If you have big pores, but still want to use with foundation, use pore-perfecting primer before it. This cream-gel foundation looks and feel light, so you may lke it even if you skipped heavier foundations before.
