Budget Shopping Weeks: L’Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes vs. L’Oreal Lash Architect 4D

I usually buy mass-market mascara because I use it for about 4-5 (sometimes 2-3) months, as my eyes become very sensitive when anything goes wrong. I just start feeling it in my eyes and can’t wear contact lenses any more, so I need to change my mascara quite often. That is one of the reasons why I prefer cheaper products. the other is that I’ve met just a few kuxury ,ascaras that really did make a difference on my eyes.

The first successful choice was something from L’Oreal many years ago. And I always have something from the brand. But what is confusing for me, it’s when one brand has so many different mascaras and each year adds more. So I decided to compare two of the same brand that I currently have and to find what’s the difference. So today, please, meet — L’Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes vs. L’Oreal Lash Architect 4D.

L’Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes — «Don’t just volumize, millionize your lashes with our New mascara.» Well, yeah, it gives volume and separates and overal look is great (but not that false lash effect). It doesn’t add much length or curve (it’s almost impossible to make my lashes curly with mascara only). You can add extra coats to get more evening look. It stays on my lashes all the day long, no flakes. But I find the brush inconvenient (problems to cover outer lashes).

L’Oreal Lash Architect 4D — says «The power of sculpting fibres for lashes that look volumized, lenghthened, texturized, curved.» 4D is very funny for me, but still… it gives length and it does make my lashes a bit curly (success with just a mascara for my lashes). It doesn’t give much volume and some lashes aren’t separated when you add an extra coat (to have more volume). The brush is great and very convenient to cover outer and bottom lashes because of its thin end. Unfortunately I started to notice some flakes after 1 month of usage in 7-8 hours after I put the mascara on.

Here you can see how clean brushes look like.

Availability: your local drugstore (haven’t seen 4D in US).
Price:
L’Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes ~ 8.95$ (US)
L’Oreal Lash Architect 4D ~ 13.5$ (Europe)

Final Thoughts: I can’t say that one is really greater than another, not on my lashes. I liked Voluminous more, because I love how it looks on my eyes and it separates my lashes well, but I didn’t liked the brush. Not because it is bad, I just don’t like silicone brushes and try to find something else. Lash Architect has better brush, but it doesn’t separates my lashes so well, but I like the look less than with previous one. I wish I could exchange the brushes, but since i can’t, I will continue looking for another «the best in the world» mascaras.

By the way, I generally liked them both, still consider them more for day looks.
