Estee Lauder Pure Color Nail Lacquer #21 Pure Red
I’d like to show you another nail polish by Estee Lauder while it’s still not full autumn here — Estee Lauder Pure Color Nail Lacquer #21 Pure Red. I don’t like to use much red color in summer, but this shade is definitely one for the summer — very bright and sunny.
My impressions bout this nail polish are still the same. Although I’ve bought some new top coat from Sally Hansen that makes it dry very fast.
+ color: it is very rich, you can find creamy colors in range and colors with fine shimmer. All shades have glossy finish, you may not need a top coat for it, although with the top coat it would last longer and the color won’t be dull with time;
+ easy to use: applies nicely, convenient brush;
— no so long lasting: lasted for about 2 days, may be a little more depending on the base coat I use;
— doesn’t dry fast: you can move around after few minutes still you can accidentally spoil your manicure a while after.
#21 Pure Red — pure red, really, as its name. It is very vibrant and juicy. Creamy texture, no shimmer, glossy finish.
I thought it will look good with the new matte lipstick from Estee Lauder — Estee Lauder Pure Color «Red Velvet». But not on he same face, they are too different in their mood.
I have two nail polishes n my collections that look similar:
American Apparel Downtown LA — I’d say it’s a dupe for Estee Lauder.
Inglot O2 #653 — it is alike, but Inglot texture is very sheer and jelly. You can see the difference in daylight.
Daylight, no direct sunlight.
Availability: at Estee Lauder counters.
Price: 19$ for 9 ml.
Limited Edition? No.
Summary: currently Estee Lauder polishes are one of my favorites. They are the first from luxury brands I’ve tried that don’t give significant disappointment (taking into account their price), though they are not perfect. I liked #21 Pure Red shade a lot — it’s red, full of joy. It is probably not the best choice for autumn. Many will want some deeper, darker or warmer color. But as it’s not limited edition there’s good chance to wear it later.
How did you like this?
